NFL DFS Tournament (GPP) Plays For Week 2: Target Jayden Daniels & Commanders

We have arrived at Week 2 of the NFL season. Last week, we had soft pricing and a lot of enticing spots to get to, which made for an exciting week. Week 2 brings sharper player pricing, making lineup building just a little bit harder. We’ve got some exciting matchups, however, that are sure to produce some good fantasy scores.

I'm going to break down the NFL DFS tournament (GPP) plays that I like on this slate. This could be a QB and receiver stack that I like, a sneaky RB in a good spot, or a standalone WR/TE. The goal here is to find players that are going to be under 10% owned. Getting different with these players allows you to get to safer and higher-owned pieces across the rest of your lineup. Let's dive into it!

DraftKings and FanDuel NFL DFS Week 2 Tournament (GPP) Plays

Ja’Marr Chase - CIN WR ($7,600 DraftKings, $8,800 FanDuel)

Let's start this week's GPP plays with arguably the biggest disappointment of Week 1. Ja’Marr Chase was one of the most popular plays of Week 1 on both DK and FD. He disappointed with a 3.2fp DK score, having just 2 receptions for 12 yards. We know who Chase is as a player, and while that was an awful way to start the season, this is only motivation for him to get back on track. While the Bengals came away with a Week 1 win, it was a lackluster performance for Burrow and the receivers, and they will look to bounce back. Many people will be scared off of Chase, but I see this as a great opportunity to get a top-2 receiver in the league at lower ownership than he should be.

Wan'Dale Robinson - TEN WR ($4,600 DraftKings, $5,300 FanDuel)

Next, let's look at a player I mentioned as a Week 1 value play. Wan'Dale Robinson suits up as a top Titans WR alongside Carnell Tate. The Titans are going to be in many (very many) trailing-from-behind game scripts this season. This gives Cam Ward the green light to air it out to his receivers to give the team chances to stay competitive. Known as a shifty slot receiver, Robinson should be peppered with targets all season, and this is a good opportunity for that here. The Titans get a home matchup vs. the Eagles, where they should be trailing, as they will be most weeks. Wandale is going to stand out as a great GPP dart every week, with high upside in from-behind game scripts. I like him again here.

Lamar Jackson - BAL QB ($7,300 DraftKings, $8,800 FanDuel) / Mark Andrews - BAL TE ($4,400 DraftKings, $5,200 FanDuel)

Following a Week 1 mention on my GPP list, we are going back to the well with Lamar Jackson and Mark Andrews. This was a low-owned stack that I liked in last week's matchup vs. the Colts, and the outcome was rather favorable. Jackson had an excellent first half, accumulating nearly 25fp and getting his top target, Zay Flowers, 150 receiving yards in the half. Flowers went down with an injury, however, and the second half was led by Derrick Henry, chewing clock and being productive as he does. Mark Andrews was healthily involved, totaling 4 receptions on 6 targets for 49 yards. With Flowers most likely out for this week's matchup, that only lifts the floor and ceiling on Andrews. Lamar and the Ravens are going to have to rely on Andrews more to be productive and haul in catches. Assuming ownership on these guys doesn't creep too high, I love them here, along with throwing darts on the next-in-line receivers for the Ravens. That includes Rashod Bateman, LaJohntay Webster, and Chris Moore.

Jayden Daniels - WAS QB ($6,300 DraftKings, $7,900 FanDuel), Terry McLaurin - WAS WR ($5,200 DraftKings, $6,000 FanDuel), Stefon Diggs - WAS WR ($5,300 DraftKings, $6,100 FanDuel)

To close out my GPP plays for the week, let's look at the Washington Commanders. They get a Week 2 matchup vs. the Cowboys, which hold the largest total of the slate at 50.5. The Commanders are also 4.5-point underdogs here. This is a great fantasy environment, arguably the best on the slate, but the ownership is currently not getting to these guys. Jayden Daniels has two key weapons in Terry McLaurin and Stefon Diggs, who are going to be critical for success here. Diggs was targeted 9 times in Week 1, which was great. McLaurin was targeted just 4 times, but the team has already said that will vary week to week, and they will not be forced to feed him in bad scenarios. I like him to be more involved here. I love getting to all 3 of these guys and running it back with some Cowboys pieces for a GPP game stack. Getting to just one receiver with Daniels is also great. Daniels rushing upside makes him look even better. Ownership is there on the Cowboys pieces, so I love getting to the opposite side of this game at much lower ownership.

Week 2 looks like an exciting one. It is our first opportunity to take advantage of overreactions from the previous week, both positive and negative. I love getting to good players after down performances, as one bad performance does not change who a player is, but it changes DFS players' chances to click on them in their lineups. We also get more very appealing matchups with team stacks that won't be overowned. Let's have an amazing Week 2 and win some GPP contests. Good luck!
